Advisory Board formation

E-mail sent by Joan Gregerson, Wednesday, July 16th, 2014 @ 1:27pm

Hi Team,
You are being contacted because you have expressed interest in Sustainable Revolution Longmont. Lise Hildebrandt is taking the lead on helping us form an Advisory Board.

Please be on the lookout for an email or phone call from Lise to talk about what is expected of board members, your interest and expertise, and explore if you would like to commit to becoming a board member.  This will be a collaborative process, as we figure out what we expect from board members from best practices and your ideas.

Certainly, things will shift as we get set up with a Fiscal Sponsor and/or decide to file as a 501c3 sometime later, but for all we're planning to do, an Advisory Board is a necessary first step for ensuring a responsible, effective organization.

If you don't want to be considered for this position or if you know of others that would like to be, please let Lise Hildebrandt know at lisehild@yahoo.com.

Thank you,
Joan

You will need to sign a waiver (attached) prior to or on the day of the event.

Please refer to the Rhythm on the River map (attached). There is free parking at the Boulder County Fairgrounds (enter on Boston Avenue). You can walk (2-3 city blocks distance) or take the free shuttle. If you need any materials delivered by vehicle, please contact Joan 720 224 7020 and I will bring them in the day before at noon.

Please be prepared for any weather and consider holders or rocks to keep materials from blowing away.

When a kid comes to the booth, you can have them play the Food Miles game, administer a trivia question, or invent an interactive activity to earn a ticket. Kids that earn five tickets by visiting five booths can earn a prize, so they are motivated to interact.

You can have sign-up sheets for volunteers or email lists, and/or give away stickers or information. You can not sell merchandise or ask for donations in this area.

Local Food Rescue has offered to bring washed, rescued fruit to give away. This will be a great conversation starter as well as draw for the booth. Thank you!
